Who We Are

DonorsResource.org is an online hub that connects nonprofits in need with donors that have in-kind donations to give.

DonorsResource.org is a registered trademark of Sisters of the Community, (SOC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that was founded December of 2005 by two sisters, Deborah Waggoner and Della Rae.

The mission of SOC is to distribute household goods to families in need, referred to us by social service agencies, case workers and advocates, our community partners.

Like nonprofits everywhere, the twin challenges of communicating our mission while fulfilling our promise to those we serve was at hand. As our warehouse filled, thanks to the tremendous generosity of individuals like you, the desire to give often went unmet due to the challenge of matching the philanthropic motivations of each donor with a cause in need of support.

After distributing over 20,000 items within 18 months, SOC realized the need for an online solution.

From the start, SOC has been committed to change and made the biggest change of all by going virtual. In October 2007 we moved away from our physical distribution center to rock this new model of giving. This means we no longer take part in storage or delivery of in-kind donations.

Welcome an exciting new idea: DonorsResource.org, a non-profit under the umbrella of SOC. DonorsResource.org offers a centralized, online connection service between nonprofits and donors. You can think of DonorsResource.org as a virtual SOC, simply a better, more effective means of fulfilling our original mission.

So check us out. We welcome your involvement.
